Raptors Basketball

Raptors Athletics Basketball is a Winter Season sport played in the Arapahoe Youth League (AYL) open to 2nd - 8th grade boys and girls who live in the Rock Canyon, Castle View or Douglas County High School feeder neighborhoods.

Raptors and AYL provide a great opportunity for elementary and middle school players to experience competitive basketball locally and affordably.

Included in the registration cost is a voluntary 2 night training camp that will be held in late October. We also prepare and support our coaches to succeed at every level of competition in order to develop your player and maximize enjoyment.

How are rosters determined?

We strive to get every player on a team. However, there are situations when the numbers and amount of coaches don't match up the way we want. We know how difficult that situation is, so we will do everything in our power to find a roster. Also, if do you have a preferred team/coach, there is a question in the registration process to provide that information.

What if I might want to coach a team?

What if you end up not finding my son/daughter a team to play on?

In those rare cases, your registration and uniform fee will be completely refunded.

What if there are nights or times we know we can't practice?

Let Brandon Hommel know any major conflicts, and he will do his best to accommodate as many requests as he can while building the practice schedules. The earlier this information is submitted, the more likely it can be worked in to the schedule.

What if we know we will have to miss some Saturday games?

Let your coach know as soon as possible. Most teams will have a game or two with missing players, and the sooner the coach knows about it the better they can prepare for those games.
