Director
Brandon Hommel is entering his first season as Director of Raptors Athletic Basketball. He brings experience in league development, having created and run the South Metro Hoops men’s basketball league. A former player at Columbine High School, Brandon is still remembered there—affectionately—as the 27th best forward in program history.
By day, Brandon teaches Chemistry at Rock Canyon High School. In the spring and fall, he runs an aeration business. His wife, Amy, is the Social Studies Department Chair at Rock Canyon. Together they have two sons: Miles (10), who aspires to be a veterinarian and has a deep love for French toast sticks with maple syrup; and Noah (8), who plans to become either a builder, astronaut, scientist or football player - and starts most conversations with “Dada, I have a question.” Their family is rounded out by two dachshunds, Annie (12) and Sadie (1), who listen selectively at best.
Brandon’s vision for Raptors Basketball centers on building a strong, community-focused program that gets kids in Castle Rock and Castle Pines excited to play. He believes youth basketball builds resilience, teamwork, coachability, and lifelong habits of physical health. Brandon is always available to talk about the program, answer questions, and hear how things can improve.
